Inspired by the ancient now vanished Mimbres culture.
The Mimbres culture consisted of several hundred small villages in southern New Mexico, each with less than 200 inhabitants, existing between approximately A.D. 100 and A.D. 1150. Their valley supported a rich diversity of wildlife, and the people lead a peaceful existence, relying on gathering, hunting, and some limited farming.

Spanish Colonial Style Tinajero

This piece of furniture was commonly found in kitchens of the 18th century Spanish colonies in the new world or Americas. It's function was to filter water collected from rivers, ponds, wells, etc. Poured into a container carved out of a soft porous stone that was placed inside the upper level of a wooden cabinet using the lower level to house a "tinaja" or fired clay pot that would collect and cool the filtered water dripping down from the stone filter above. Stone not included.
